Job Summary

As a Category Manager in the US Retail Consumer business, you will be in continuing to reinvent the Consumer Personal Systems business. You will help drive business development and product line strategy, innovation and evolution to build a best-in-class line-up for various accounts. You are responsible for all elements of 4P execution, for HP consumer Notebooks sold through US Retail Channel.

Responsibilities
- Consumer Notebooks
product category management and P&L responsibilities for several key accounts:
- Define, sell-in, communicate and implement product roadmaps, product positioning, and pricing strategy;
- Define, communicate and manage product offers and promotional strategies in support of US Retail partners
- Launch profitable, Time-to-Market product roadmaps (Core, Gaming, Premium) and end to end product lifecycle management;
- Constantly monitor the competition's landscape and quickly assess areas of weakness and opportunities

- Optimize Alliance partner mix across CPU, GPU and other technologies;

- This role looks at the breadth of Consumer Notebooks product offering.  As such the candidate must:

- Showcase superior understanding of the category product, business management and sales challenges and strategies.

- Actively contribute/lead the definition of the category business plan.

- Establish relationships and represents team with sales force and other partners at senior level.


Qualifications:

  • Strong category management experience in Consumer PC’s, preferred experience in Consumer Notebooks, PC Gaming, Chromebooks.

  • Product portfolio planning strengths, as this role leads the creation of the product line-up of “good, better, best” across numerous product form factors.

  • Strong Category Management skills, P&L acumen and analytical abilities (Excel proficiency critical).  Financial planning and modelling skills, comfortable to manage high complexity business planning and reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including presentation skills to senior leadership and customers.

  • Strong sense of execution and planning, helping manage change.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, creativity, and leadership.

  • Previous experience with US Retail Channel preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration,. Marketing or related field of study, with 7 years related experience. Master's degree strongly preferred.

  • Willingness to travel.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Business planning skills

  • Strong communication skills at senior management internally and externally.

  • Knowledge of promotional marketing processes and practices.

  • Negotiation skills and ability to frame the product value proposition to customers/partners.

  • Leadership skills and cross functional expertise (sales, supply chain, marketing).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $146,400.00 -- $225,450.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
