Position Purpose:

In order to deliver efficient service, cashiers' customer service skills are indispensable. They manage transactions for Checkouts and/or Returns and oversee the Self-Checkout area, providing courteous, precise, and secure service to customers. They also take the initiative in researching product/project knowledge to provide customers with insights and identify potential sales opportunities while also adhering to policies and procedures to mitigate shrinkage.

A Head Cashier's job is to arrange the placement of Cashiers to provide support for them by facilitating price checks, authorizing various Point of Sale transactions, and markdowns for registers including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. They also handle customer complaints as a first point of escalation and assist in coaching, supervising, and training other Front End Associates. Therefore, the Head Cashier participates in providing for the training of new Cashiers and leverages all available tools to mentor and develop the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Holding a 1+ year background in cashiering.
