Cash Handling Clerk

As an ALDI Cashier or Stocker, you'll be part of a team that collaborates to enhance the shopper's experience. You'll operate machinery and registers, keep product availability high, maintain the store's appearance, and provide excellent customer service.

Position Type: Part-Time

30 Hours or Less: The Typical Time Frame

The hourly rate at the beginning of employment is $18.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duty demands that the individual performs tasks with or without reasonable assistance.

  • Supports team efforts and effectively relays pertinent information to their manager
  • Maintains the confidentiality and safety of files and information in their custody
  • Supervisor-given tasks outside of job description

Cashier Responsibilities:

  • Processes consumer orders, maintains cleanliness in the retail store, organizes products on the shelves, and displays merchandise with precision
  • A focus on exceptional customer service is maintained to ensure customers’ shopping needs are appropriately addressed
  • Offers thorough reports and insightful analysis to management regarding all products, inventory losses, scanning issues, and other topics that could impact the store's overall performance
  • Contributes to the process of store inventory counting by following the prescribed guidelines and monitoring inventory precision
  • A key factor in reducing financial losses is the implementation and adherence to well-established cash policies and procedures

Stocker Responsibilities:

  • Consistently replenishing attractive and appealing shelves with fresh food items to meet customers’ demands
  • By adhering to a predetermined merchandising planogram, effective and visually stimulating product displays can be created with ease
  • Logically arranging newly-arrived inventory and eliminating empty containers by disassembling them is a must-do
  • The primary task at hand is to manage equipment and abide by prescribed safety practices at all times

Physical Demands:

  • Those who work at the store are responsible for fulfilling a wide range of physical duties, from sitting and standing to bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
  • Product Stocker: Expertise in moving store commodities from receiving to shelving; ability to sort items, which may weigh up to 45 pounds, on shelves at different levels

Qualifications:

  • The criterion for participation includes being of legal age i.e. 18 years or older
  • The aptitude to furnish timely and polite service to customers
  • Having the capacity to carry out routine cleaning tasks in compliance with the organization's norms
  • Company policies and procedures provide a framework for how business is conducted. Employees must be able to apply these guidelines effectively in order to maintain consistency and compliance
  • Impressive Speaking Prowess
  • Having the ability to adapt to both individual and team-based tasks accordingly

  • Ensure that you are operating within the legal framework set by your state and city when dealing with alcohol sales and service
  • Expertise in the safe and efficient operation of equipment, including electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers is a must for any stocker

Education and Experience:

  • The desired qualification is to have completed their secondary education or received any equivalent certification
  • Previous involvement in a retail environment is a plus
  • A merger of book learning and hands-on experience resulting in analogous understanding
