Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about healthcare? We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Pharmacy Support Specialists. As a Pharmacy Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to pharmacists, including answering phones, processing prescriptions, and managing paperwork. Pharmacy Support Specialists must maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
Customer Service: Assist patients and healthcare providers with inquiries, refill requests, and medication-related questions. Pharmacy Support Specialists must provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage and process claims for prescription medications. Pharmacy Support Specialists must have a strong understanding of insurance procedures and be able to effectively communicate with insurance companies and patients.
Medication Coordination: Coordinate with prescribers, pharmacies, and patients to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery and refill processing. Pharmacy Support Specialists play a crucial role in ensuring patients have access to the medications they need.
Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management tasks, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies. Pharmacy Support Specialists must maintain an organized and well-stocked pharmacy environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills so they can fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring and weighing medications.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
