The Senior Specialist, Organic Social Media Communications is a skilled storyteller who partners with content contributors across the company to help drive the narrative across multiple platforms and inspire our audience with engaging stories. You will use your passion for navigating ambiguity, driving clarity, and influencing strategy to ensure our channels are what people want to follow. In this role, you will use insights to inform content strategy and collaborate with various business units on organic and paid social campaigns to inspire travel, promote excitement, and tell a story. Whether it is a simple feature release to our mobile application or a cohesive multi-pronged product announcement, your ability to lead, optimize and adapt will ensure we create engaging experiences that connect the business objectives to our audience. What you'll do Partner with editorial, internal and external teams to manage the content strategy, revise social copy as needed to fit channel requirements, and assist in management of posting calendar Grow American Airlines' social media footprint while maintaining and enhancing the brand and reputation Define performance indicators, measurement and analytics and develop insights based on social media content and channel performance to inform strategy Prepare project briefs that communicate the campaign goals, key audience segments, and measures of success with identification of actionable insights relevant to company and team goals Proactively identify new and underutilized opportunities to expand our organic social media channels Collaborate with in-house designers to develop compelling and impactful creative assets Proactively identify new and underutilized opportunities to expand our organic social media channels Develop cross-functional relationships to collaborate on improving the business results of social Write copy for social content, promotions, and campaign activations and participate in posting of content Cultivate an organic social boosting plan that enhances targeted paid media and messaging goals Participate in ongoing learningsto bring fresh ideas, new best-practices, growth opportunities adn expansion for the future of social Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points and translate into fun and organic social content All you'll need for success Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Analytics or a related field 3+ yearsof experience in social community management and knowledge of all social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram,LinkedIn and YouTube Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience 5+ years of experience in social strategy, reporting and platform management 4+ years of digital communications experience 4+ years of experience building and optimizing organic social campaigns Agency experience or experience working with a brand with multiple accounts/business entities Proven self-starter, who can work independently and proactively to resolve issues, take ownership of tools, processes and reporting Experience in a fast-paced environment and continually evolving goals Strong understanding of foundational social media elements and platforms, their audiences, and how to leverage them to maximize branding and lead generation efforts Assertive communication skills to pursue information from internal and external experts, as well as to communicate project status and needs to peers and management Experience developing, and measuring social media organic campaigns with excellent project management and organizational skills Experience shooting content on an iPhone, for vertical video publishing platforms Actively participates in the conversation and looks for ways to provide value High level of professionalism and resilience navigating change, while working under tight deadlines and balance priorities simultaneously Skills, Licenses and Certifications Stellar creative, verbal and written communication skills Experience running competitor analysis and presenting to leadership how performance compares In-depth knowledge of different social and digital marketing channels Fast paced with strong team support, the job requires someone who thinks strategically, sees the stories that need to be told, and holds themselves to a high standard while adeptly managing competing priorities Well-informed of trending news stories, hashtags, memes and other cultural trends Passionate about attention to detail and project management Knowledge of paid social platforms Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal office hours as needed Resourceful and autonomous learner with the ability to deliver under pressure Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems What you'll get Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
