Essential Functions:
Customer Service:
- Smart customer service can only be provided at all times by following the protocols outlined in Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
- Engages with customers to comprehend their wants and facilitates in finding, demonstrating, picking, carrying, and/or unloading inventory.
- Well-versed in providing prompt and informed responses to customer and staff inquiries, while also walking them through any relevant projects as needed, to ensure exemplary service.
- Demonstrates true acknowledgement of clients.
- The communication process with our customers is pivotal in keeping them up-to-date on Lowe's programs. We ensure that our customers get access to information on all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information pertaining to our programs.
- The assistant's duties may include contacting customers about their upcoming delivery or arranging for the driver to do so.
In-stock:
- Delivery activities should be thoroughly planned, and loading tickets prepared, to allow for the prompt delivery of merchandise and ensure that orders arrive on schedule.
- Picks up commodities, creates load packages, and loads lorries (maintaining payload parameters) in accordance with delivery sequence.
- Scrutinizing the condition of items (such as devices) before they are loaded for delivery or assisting customers with loading.
- To ensure that the quantities listed on the invoice are accurate, it is necessary to check the items, descriptions, and model numbers to ensure that they match what was loaded.
The safety and well-being of staff and customers rely heavily on maintaining a clean and safe store environment:
- Ensures that all cargo is fastened securely and meets the DOT's safety standards for transportation.
- The delivery and route progress is tracked through the system (e.g. iPhone), with updates given to indicate an on-site arrival or successful completion.
- Our team is in charge of unloading, installing, and testing the appliances after they are delivered to the customer.
- Verifies and records daily vehicle checks and upkeep, making sure all delivery automobiles and lift gates are well-maintained and tidy.
- Successfully accomplishing DOT reporting obligations is essential for preserving DOT certification and CDL conformity.
- Identifies indications of shoplifting, theft, and other security threats and immediately relays the information to management or Asset Protection.
- Upholds housekeeping standards and initiatives, such as Zone Recovery, to promote a neat and well-organized store and workplace environment.
- Fosters a secure and safe workplace by performing daily safety evaluations, identifying potential dangers, facilitating clear access ways, and securely locking doors and gates.
- Observes strict safety measures as part of one's job responsibilities, such as the use of safety devices and proper installation of equipment to prevent harm.
- Roles and divisions may necessitate the use of store equipment like CCTV surveillance system, copiers, fax machines, Zebra phone, computers, panel saw, compactor baler, paint mixer, flooring cutters, and key cutter for operating tasks.
- Besides the duties already outlined, this individual is also held responsible for any additional tasks given to them.
Minimum Requirements:
- Class A CDL License - In locations with multi-unit CMV (tractor-trailer & flatbed) a class A license is required to operate. or
- To operate a tandem flatbed CMV in certain locations, a driver must have a class A or B license with an air brake endorsement. This is a crucial requirement that must be met to ensure the safety and adherence to the law
- It is important to have an authentic medical certificate or to be able to acquire one soon after being hired
- Aptitude for fulfilling the company's MVR screening protocol
- Adherence to all necessary sales-related licensure or registration conditions, in accordance with the law.
- Literacy entails the capacity to understand written text, create written content, and perform basic mathematical operations (such as addition and subtraction).
- It is necessary to be at least 21 years old to proceed.
- The ability to follow DOT and CDL guidelines is a must-have attribute for commercial drivers.
Preferences:
- Those interested in applying must meet the requirement of having a year's experience operating a semi-truck/trailer or completing a driving school program.
- I have been able to gain six months of experience in in-home delivery and retail customer service, where I have learned valuable skills and best practices to render top-notch customer service.
- The job requires a candidate to have experience operating a forklift or Moffett for a period of at least three months.
