Job Summary:

A champion of On-Shelf Availability, overseeing numerous inventory-related functions like receiving, counting, pricing, and processing returns throughout the store.

  • Tasked with ensuring the accurate usage of system reports and applications that affect front-end and pharmacy prices and inventory levels.
  • Required to execute and maintain asset protection techniques in the pharmacy and front end, and submit the appropriate claims for discrepancies in received and billed merchandise from warehouse and vendors, including overages, shortages, order errors, and damaged prescription drugs.
  • If store management is absent, certain stores are in charge of opening and closing the store. This includes initiating necessary systems, overseeing cash handling, performing cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the store floor and stock room are adequately prepared.
  • Dresses customers in a friendly and inviting manner and delivers guidance on products and services. Also, when responsible for leading on duty at specific stores, deals with customer concerns and queries to ensure an optimistic impression on customers.
  • Instills a customer-centric mindset in team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Guides and directs team members on strategies for handling warehouse and vendor inventory, including coordinating the creation, review, and receipt of orders.
  • The team verifies the delivery with the vendor and checks for accurate orders to ensure that the products are delivered as per the requirements.
  • Reporting to the lead pharmacist, the assistant pharmacist monitors all pharmacy shipments received, verifying their accuracy and ensuring that all shipments are promptly posted. The assistant pharmacist completes postings of pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescriptions and OTC orders, while also verifying secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders.
  • The end-to-end On-Shelf Availability (OSA) process ensures that all planned product departments are well-stocked and that there are no out-of-stock situations for customers. Through the proper execution of disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns, all items on display are fresh and available for purchase.
  • Successful management of pharmacy inventory tasks, such as adhering to Pharmacy Hazardous Waste Policy during recalls, processing vendor returns, and handling damaged or salvage returns, overseen by the head pharmacist.
  • The main responsibility associated with this role is to manage all pricing-related activities to completion, including markdown removals, markdowns, and modifications to prices. Basic department pricing processes remain integral to this role, necessitating prompt and reliable execution of accurate pricing with proper signage and timely completion of any additional regulatory pricing tasks.
  • A crucial aspect of this job is to support the pharmacy and front-end ordering by procuring various expense items.
  • Manages and updates the tally of designated products destined for removal and containment, ensuring that they are placed in the designated quarantine zone.
  • Maintains an organized inventory count by ensuring the accuracy of on-hand quantities in various departments, storage areas, and overstock locations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date inventory counts is essential in ensuring that the pharmacy accurately dispenses medications to patients.
  • To ensure legal compliance, the store must maintain inventory accuracy and compliance with state and local laws governing the sale of regulated products, including alcohol and tobacco.
  • Provides assistance in inventory recordkeeping activities, which involves recording and uploading all received items into inventory systems from the store's front-end. They also arrange and keep invoices, receipts, and return authorizations required for inventory activities.
  • Helps in the preparation for physical inventory day by supporting activities such as organizing the sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy, and overseeing the third-party team's inventory count accuracy on the day of the inventory.
  • Properly stocking all shelves and counters enables customers to easily locate and access the products they need.
  • Knowledgeable of all store technology and apparatuses.
  • This position requires the individual to provide coaching and assistance to the Walgreens store team in package delivery-related operations, such as scanning packages, managing daily inventory, and processing returns. Additionally, they help in ensuring that the Pickup Program runs smoothly.
  • When you are the leader on duty in certain stores, you must manage all sales in the point-of-sale system (POS) accurately. This means recording scanning errors, price verifications, unlisted items, price adjustments, and voids. Furthermore, you must process product returns, order cancellations, customer refunds, cash drops, and provide change as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with all institutional rules and regulations while cultivating amicable connections with team members.
  • Performs additional activities and other responsibilities as instructed.

Qualification:

  • A year's worth of retail experience and understanding.
  • The successful applicant must be proficient in speaking, writing, and reading English, with the exception of Puerto Rico, where this criterion is not mandatory.
  • This position involves working a flexible schedule that involves evening and weekend hours, thus the candidate must be willing to abide by this schedule.
  • Illustrated exceptional observance of minutiae and ability to skillfully handle numerous tasks.
  • Capable of recognizing operational obstacles and recommending strategies to overcome them.
  • The desired qualifications include prior exposure to the roles of shift supervisor, pharmacy tech, DH, or customer service representative.
  • It is highly advisable to have previous hands-on experience with Walgreens and a detailed review on record.
