Transportation Maintenance Worker (Recruit) 6-E8 (Region Wide Crews) University

Do you enjoy working outside on various types of maintenance operations, operating medium and heavy trucks, backhoes, skid steers, articulating loaders, graders, and aerial towers? If your answer is yes, this position is for you! The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking applicants for a Transportation Maintenance Worker at the Region Special Crews in the MDOT University Region. You will perform a full range of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on state trunkline roads and right of ways.

Do you currently have to buy your own personal protective equipment or tools? Come work with us at MDOT and all personal protective equipment, tools, and equipment are provided to perform all the duties assigned to this position. This position receives $300 clothing allowance annually and a steel toe boot reimbursement every year up to $125 or every two years up to $250. Employment with MDOT also offers paid vacation leave, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays each year!

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the Recruit (6) level through the maximum rate at the experienced (E8) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.
