GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
Under the direction of the User Experience Manager, the IT Generalist Intern position will provide support for the daily activities of the Office of Information Technology (OIT).
The position participates in the diverse job tasks and meetings of various teams within the OIT Department. This position allows for flexibility in hours and a hybrid work environment based on an agreed-upon schedule with supervisor.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Schedule and attend meetings and take notes
Work collaboratively with other members of OIT and colleagues from different departments to support Ivy Tech's overall goals and objectives
Participate in various IT projects
Troubleshoot technical issues in various IT systems and applications
Learn to effectively incorporate feedback from stakeholders and end users to improve the overall user experience and functionality of systems
Continuous development of new skills, expanding knowledge, exploring different approaches, and staying updated on industry trends and best practices

EDUCATION :
High School diploma or equivalent required
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
Required
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Must possess good written and oral communication skills
Technical troubleshooting acumen and willingness to find solutions to technical problems
Willingness to work and meet with end users to solve their IT issues
Must be able to maintain professional relationships with peers and managers
Ability to use discretion and confidentiality with access to sensitive data
Must be dependable
Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
Eagerness to learn about all areas of the IT department and contribute
Conducts all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views
Desired
Experience in a higher education environment
Current, former, or future Ivy Tech student
HOURLY RATE : $15.00 / hour
