The role is a part of the Corporate Communications team within our Global Engagement group.What you ll doPartner with our People organization, facilitating communications to ensure team members are familiar with the organization s policies, goals and expectationsServe as a strategic counselor to the businesses you supportOversee communications strategy for multiple areasLead a team of communications professionalsDevelop relationships and growth for the teamAll you ll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceBachelor s Degree or Master s Degree in communications or relevant field, or equivalent experience/training 7+ years of relevant experience in communications in a corporate, agency or newsroom settingPreferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperiencePrevious work experience with consumer mediaSkills, Licenses & CertificationsProven success in developing and executing internal and external communications strategies for large organizationsAbility to produce a broad range of communication vehicles, including press releases, reactive statements, presentations, executive communications, social posts, intranet pages, webcasts and blogsExecutive presence and ability to work among C- and VP-level customersExperience leading staff and developing their careers with careStrong team player with the ability to work successfully at all levels of the organizationAbility to lead tasks, manage processes, analyze and problem-solve, working independently as well as in a groupThrives in a fast-paced atmosphere where you work under pressure and can meet critical deadlinesMust have excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines effectively, efficiently and independentlyStrong analytical skills, quantitative ability, solution and detail-orientedHigh level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential informationStrong ability to influence or negotiate with stakeholders dealing with competing prioritiesCapable of anticipating needs and driving clarity on expectationsWhat you ll getFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:
