Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and maintain dental materials and supplies
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records
- Provide support to the front desk as needed
Skills:
- Infection control: Knowledge of proper sterilization techniques and adherence to infection control protocols
- Systems: Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic
- HIPAA: Understanding of patient privacy laws and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Dental receptionist: Ability to handle front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance claims
- Medical coding: Familiarity with medical coding systems for billing purposes
- CAD: Experience with computer-aided design software for creating dental restorations
- Medical records: Ability to accurately maintain and update patient medical records
