At ALDI, we're seeking Cashiers and Stockers to work cohesively towards elevating the customer shopping experience. Join our team and operate registers and equipment, maintain product availability, keep the store tidy, and provide exceptional customer service.

Position Type: Part-Time

Typically Less Than 30 Hours per Week is the Expected Duration

The hourly salary for beginners is $18.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

The position calls for the employee to perform responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Interacts positively with co-workers and keeps their immediate supervisor informed at all times
• Safeguards the security and privacy of documents and data in their responsibility
• Supplementary obligations as assigned

Cashier Responsibilities:

• Executes customer transactions, performs general cleaning duties in the store, stows merchandise on shelves, and presents a visually-enticing image of the product displays
• Outstanding customer service is provided to tailor the shopping experience to customers’ needs
• Provides consistent feedback and regular updates to management regarding all aspects of product management, including inventory levels, scanning technology, and merchandising concerns
• Collaborates in taking store inventory counts by following the established procedures and overseeing inventory accuracy
• To minimize monetary risks and losses, it is imperative to comply with the cash policies and procedures that have been put in place

Stocker Responsibilities:

• Creating an inviting and welcoming environment by keeping shelves fully stocked with the freshest products and constantly rotating them
• Following a merchandising planogram is an integral element in the creation of expertly-crafted merchandise displays that effectively showcase products to customers
• Effectively organizing new merchandise and eliminating empty boxes by breaking them down is a fundamental responsibility
• This job requires the candidate to be proficient in operating a variety of machinery while following all safety protocols

Physical Demands:

• Working at the store demands individuals to execute various physical maneuvers, such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
• Load Puller: Expertise in transporting merchandise from the store's receiving area to the shelves; ability to sort products, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelves situated at various heights

Qualifications:

• Age restriction for involvement in this is set at 18 years or above
• The dexterity to deliver speedy and obliging customer support
• Proficiency in undertaking general cleaning duties as expected by the organization
• Applying company policies and procedures effectively requires good communication skills. This involves not only understanding the policies themselves, but also communicating expectations clearly to others
• Oral communication skills play a vital role in the business world, and those who possess superior skills in this area can often lead successful teams and projects
• Possessing the skills to work competently without supervision whilst also collaborating smoothly in group settings
• Effective time management
• Improving product and service knowledge through training and development is an investment that can yield significant returns for both customers and employees
• Proficiency in operating the cash register smoothly and accurately
• Compliance with state and local regulations on the handling and sale of alcoholic drinks is critical to maintaining your legal standing and preserving the safety and well-being of your patrons
• Proficiency in using different types of equipment, including floor scrubbers, electric/manual hand jacks, and cardboard balers, in a safe and effective manner is an indispensable skill for a stocker

Education and Experience:

• Preference will be given to candidates who have a high school diploma or its corresponding equivalent certificate
• Candidates who possess previous work experience in retail are given preference
• A mixture of scholarly learning and work-based experience resulting in comparable understanding
