The Lawn and Garden Sales Consultant at Lowe's is an essential person as they influence the customer's impression of the brand. This associate assists customers in picking the right products, ensuring accurate quotes and price labels, and meeting their requirements while delivering excellent customer service. To achieve this, the Customer Service Associate must possess excellent listening skills, product knowledge, and must be available to help the customers while also loading their merchandise. Additionally, they must be vigilant and report any potential safety or security risks around the entrance area.
The obligations and tasks of a Lawn and Garden Sales Consultant will change based on the department they are working in. These areas may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. Depending on the candidate's qualifications and the hiring needs of the company, a Customer Service Associate could be considered for any of these departments.
Travel Requirements:
There is no obligation for frequent travel in this position, but there may be times where some travel is required for attending meetings, training, or aiding other stores in the vicinity.
We expect our candidates to be highly motivated and demonstrate a strong work ethic. They should be able to show an eagerness to learn and be open to feedback and guidance from their colleagues. Passion for the industry is a must. We want individuals who value and appreciate the work we do and are enthusiastic about contributing to the company's growth:
- Generally, full-time employees are scheduled to work 39 to 40 hours, while part-time employees work up to 25 hours per week, with some degree of flexibility based on store requirements.
- Consistent availability in the morning, afternoon, and evening, regardless of the day of the week, is a must for this job.
- Physical aptitude to participate in job responsibilities, which may involve prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities, is a must.
- Certain stores require CSAs assigned to the Greeter departments to be able to lift 10 pounds without help and potentially more weight with or without support.
- CSAs are required to be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds on their own to work in any department, other than Greeter departments wherein they may also be allowed to lift weights exceeding 25 pounds with or without aid.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A person who has been using a computer for 6 months, and is capable of tasks such as entering data, obtaining information, modifying data, and generating output.
- Six months of practical experience has enabled me to learn and use everyday retail technologies like smartphones and tablets with ease.
- Meeting legal obligations by obtaining licenses or registrations pertaining to sales.
Preferred Qualifications:
- With 6 months of hands-on experience in sales, I have become proficient in recognizing and promoting items that are most suited to each customer's needs. This involves proposing credit cards, add-ons, installations, as well as providing in-depth insights into product features, advantages, and warranties.
- My experience as a retail assistant for six months has allowed me to enhance my skills in addressing customer concerns, supporting customers with locating items, and maintaining warm customer relations.
- Linguistic competency, when beneficial to the business.
- By gaining certification in a trade that correlates with a department, professionals can demonstrate their expertise in specific areas such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials.
