Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehending the physiological needs of animals necessitates proper examination, which includes evaluating their body functions, reactions, and responses.
- It is the responsibility of the care provider to monitor vital signs, give medications and vaccines, tend to wounds, and collect samples.
- Assist veterinary professionals in conducting exams and procedures on pets by arranging supplies, calming pets, and following guidelines. Deliver high-quality pet care by demonstrating in-depth knowledge about physiology, anatomy, equipment usage, disease management, and drug administration.
- The team responsible for medication procurement and validation ensures that all medications are procured and authenticated in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
- To create a safe and healthy environment for patients, caregivers must provide thorough cleaning, nutritious meals, and vigilant observation to detect and respond to any potential health risks.
- Accurately distribute and document medicines, which may involve controlled substances.
- Maintain a legal, sanitized, and bacteria-free setting by disinfecting equipment, cleaning surfaces, and abiding by regulations.
- To ensure proper medical care, it is crucial to keep complete and up-to-date medical records.
- Inform pet owners about the patient's status as directed.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and acquire required supplies accordingly.
- Regularly reading professional literature and attending relevant courses and seminars can help you to develop a deeper understanding of your industry.
- The animals must be given back to their respective owners in a healthy and well-maintained condition.

Cardiology:
- Obtain and submit laboratory specimens for analysis.
- Differentiating between different types of heart complications and abnormal heartbeats.
- Tailor and enhance devices for assessing cardiac and vascular pressures.
- Comprehend pacemaker fundamentals.
Dentistry:
- Execute dental hygiene measures, specifically cleaning, polishing, and taking intraoral x-rays.
- Administer nerve blocks.
- Dental assistants provide support to the dentist in a range of procedures, including teeth cleaning, filling cavities, and performing root canals.
Dermatology:
- Dispense therapeutic substances through distinct routes.
- Provide routine maintenance of the ear canal through cleaning and flushing.
- Obtain tissue samples from the skin and ear for further investigation.
- Medical professionals are responsible for providing anesthesia and observing the changes it causes.
- Insert intravenous catheters.
Emergency:

- Assist in technical duties such as providing support during anesthesia, inserting IVs, and conducting EMG tests.

- In addition to administering chemotherapy, veterinary practitioners play a vital role in educating pet owners about the process of treatment, including its benefits, risks, and side effects.
Ophthalmology:

Radiology:

Surgery:
- Support the surgical team by preparing pets, participating in surgeries, and managing medical tools.
Qualifications:
- Completing high school studies and achieving a diploma or GED boost one's self-esteem and sets an individual on the path to success.
- Possesses a wealth of experience dealing with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and providing nursing care in critical care settings, spanning over two years.
- The role requires a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) designation, which is highly recommended or may be mandatory depending on the state in which the position is located.
- Equivalence can be determined by considering a mix of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Position Requirements:
- Optimal surgical care for pets entails a multitude of tasks, including pre-operation arrangements, precise monitoring during surgery, and efficient post-surgery follow-up.
- Ability to competently perform operations including catheter insertion, blood drawing, emergency care, and digital X-ray imaging in accordance with established protocols.
- The capacity to restrain animals safely in accordance with industry regulations is another critical aspect of animal handling that handlers should possess.
- Collaborating with a veterinarian to manage medications and oversee sedation protocols.
- Capable of managing sick animals, harmful substances, cleansing agents, gas sedatives, and noxious smells without any difficulty.
- Whether you're caring for a dog, cat, or other animal, a balanced approach that combines confidence with genuine concern for their well-being is essential for successful pet care.
- Conducting oneself in a professional and composed manner while carrying out job responsibilities, and maintaining effective communication.
- Willingness to work on weekends and holidays while having a schedule that can adapt to changing circumstances.
- The work necessitates constant motion, cleaning duties, and regular lifting.
- Depending on the assignment, tasks may require individuals to remain seated or on their feet for a lengthy period and could entail physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
- Specific tasks might involve moderate physical activity, including the lifting of animals that weigh up to 50 pounds, in addition to handling phone inquiries and aiding with other hospital duties as needed.
