EY is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection and Privacy Analyst to join our team. As a Data Protection & Privacy Analyst, you will play a key role in facilitating compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and EY policy requirements, including updating and maintaining our inventory of data, processing activities, applications, and suppliers across EY's business activities. You will also assist in responding to data subject rights (DSR) and internal data access requests, managing and documenting activities around data incidents (i.e., instances of loss, theft, or inappropriate disclosure of confidential/personal information), and supporting metrics analysis and reporting for keeping stakeholders informed of key Data Protection trends. Responsibilities:
* Maintain EY confidential and personal information inventory in partnership with EY internal functions and service lines to understand types of information that require protection and to fulfil data protection regulatory requirements (e.g., Records of Processing Activities (ROPA))
* Assist with intake, triage, and tracking of data incidents (i.e., instances of loss, theft, or inappropriate disclosure of confidential/personal information)
* Document, conduct, and assist others with investigations of data incidents; collaborate with clients, internal functions, and EY service lines to understand root cause, assess impact, and develop remediation plans
* Respond to data subject rights (DSR) and internal data access requests in accordance with applicable data protection legal and regulatory requirements and EY policies
* Assist with identifying and addressing key issues and risks related to Data Protection by comparing facts and circumstances to current firm policies
* Review inquiries sent to dedicated data protection mailboxes and understand questions from client teams and coordinate appropriate responses based on documented procedures
* Maintain and expand current knowledge of the field of expertise and communicate new developments and resulting impact to program stakeholders and team members
* Develop relationships across teams/functions within the organization
* Participate in other ad-hoc Data Protection & Privacy projects, as assigned
Qualifications:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong research and project management skills
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Ability to be flexible and take initiative
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and technology savvy
* A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* 1-3 plus years related experience
