SUMMARY
The Banquet Manager is responsible for aiding in the daily management and day-to-day operations of the Banquet department. This role requires effective leadership and excellent customer service to ensure all meetings and events run smoothly for guests and attendees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties include; although are not limited to:
- Assisting with the daily operation of the Banquet department, including recruiting, scheduling, staffing, and supervision of all staff
- Acting as a liaison for the hotel and serving as the point of contact for clients during their event
- Assisting with the planning and execution of all banquet events
- Aiding in the development and implementation of the training manual to ensure a high quality presentation and level of customer service within the banquet team
- Managing the inventory, control, and breakage/loss, reduction of china, glass and silver as it relates to function devices and banquet services
- Providing daily support and guidance to Banquet Associates as well as monitoring job performance to ensure a successful meeting/banquet experience for the guest
- Maintaining a high level of service by constantly training and coaching all Banquet staff
- Assisting the Banquet Manager with the inspection and oversight of all function space, public areas, and service areas on all banquet levels
- Coordinating with housekeeping and engineering to ensure the highest level of product delivery
- Assisting in month end inventories as scheduled
- Working with all other departments to execute client events and meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum of three (2) years Banquet experience required
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory role
- Must have prior knowledge of wine and spirits
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, multi-task
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to push and pull carts containing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
The pay scale* for Banquet Manager is $72,000-$78,000.
*The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
